Several profiles in one account

A profile is a separate workspace with its own public name, projects, folders, dynamic content, viewer design and public page. With several profiles you run brands, departments or clients in one account.

Updated

A profile is a separate workspace inside your Viewnamic account, with its own public name and address. Each profile has its own projects, folders, dynamic content, viewer design and public page – so you can run several brands, departments or clients in one account. Your first profile is created when you register.

Standard plans include one profile. Several profiles are part of tailored plans – contact us.

Create a profile

  1. Open the Workspace.
  2. At the top, next to the profile name, click Profile (with the plus sign).
  3. Under New profile, enter the Profile name.
  4. Click Create profile.

The profile name defines the permanent public address of the profile. It is unique across Viewnamic and cannot be changed later.

The account owner and admins can create profiles. If your plan does not allow another one, the button is not available and its tooltip says so.

Switch between profiles

As soon as your account has more than one profile, a list appears next to the profile name at the top of the Workspace. Choose another profile there, and the Workspace shows that profile’s projects, folders, content and designs. Uploads always go to the active profile.

What belongs to a profile

Each profile has its own

  • public name and address – the Workspace shows the address at the top,
  • projects and folders,
  • dynamic content: videos, audio files, 3D models, click dummies and slideshow images,
  • default viewer mode for new PDFs,
  • viewer design (brand the viewer),
  • public page with its design, its on/off switch and its collections (public page).

Shared by the whole account

  • plan, subscription and invoices,
  • storage and the limits for publications and interactive content,
  • team members – each member can be given access to individual profiles (team members).

Delete a profile

Only the account owner can delete a profile, and only while the account has more than one. Switch to the profile, click the trash can next to Profile and confirm with Delete profile.

Deleting a profile removes all its projects, uploads, folders and dynamic content. They cannot be moved to another profile first, and the profile name and its public address stay reserved – they cannot be used again.

Questions

Can I move a project to another profile?

No. A project stays in the profile in which it was created.

Can I rename a profile?

No. The profile name defines the public address of the profile and stays the same.

Do team members see all profiles?

Admins see all profiles. Members only see the profiles assigned to them.
