What happens when your trial or paid plan ends
When the free trial ends without a plan, access is paused at once; when a paid plan ends, your publications stay online read-only for 14 days first. A paused account is deleted 30 days after the pause – a plan brings everything back until then.
When your free trial ends without a paid plan, access to your account is paused right away. When a paid plan ends, your publications first stay online for 14 more days while uploads and edits are paused (read-only); after that, access is paused. In both cases your publications, files and settings stay stored for 30 days after the pause: renew your plan or choose another in Subscription & billing, and they are back online. After those 30 days, Viewnamic deletes the account.
When the free trial ends
The trial runs for 30 days. In Subscription & billing you see its end date after Trial ends. If you have not chosen a paid plan by then, access is paused at that moment – the trial has no read-only period. If you choose a plan during the trial, your account switches to it as soon as the payment is confirmed.
When a paid plan ends
When a paid subscription ends – for example at the end of the contract after you cancelled it, or after a withdrawal – a read-only period of 14 days begins, counted from the end of the subscription:
- Your existing publications stay online as before – in the viewer, in embeds on websites, on your public page and in the Reading Mode.
- Uploads, edits and changes are paused for everyone in your team, including the account owner: no new PDFs, no editing, no changes to access, links, designs, team or profile settings. Downloading and deleting publications and files still work.
- You can still open the Workspace, see your projects and – if your plan includes them – their statistics, and manage your subscription.
The Workspace shows Your subscription has ended – read-only grace period with the days left and Renew plan. Subscription & billing shows Read-only and the date after Existing publications online until. After that date, access is paused.
The same applies if you pay by bank transfer and the paid-through date of your plan passes.
When a payment fails
If a renewal payment fails, Subscription & billing shows Payment due. Your account keeps working as usual in the meantime. Update your payment method with Invoices & payment methods (see Manage your subscription and invoices); as soon as a payment goes through, everything continues normally. While the payment is due, access is paused 7 days after the last failed payment attempt – without a read-only period.
While access is paused
- Readers who open the link of a publication see This publication is not available at the moment. instead of the document – in every access mode, also with a personal secure link.
- Publications embedded on websites no longer show the document.
- Your public page is no longer available, and search engines are asked not to index your publications.
- The Workspace shows Your Viewnamic access is paused with Renew or choose a plan, and Subscription & billing shows Access paused. You still see your projects but cannot open them in the viewer, upload or edit; statistics are not available.
- You can still download and delete your PDFs and media in the Workspace.
- Your publications, files, settings and links stay stored for 30 days after the pause. The Workspace and Subscription & billing show the date: Your account and everything in it will be deleted on …
Deletion 30 days after the pause
30 days after access was paused, Viewnamic deletes the account completely: all publications with their files, the media, statistics, the public page and the logins of team members who belong to no other Viewnamic account. After a paid plan that is 44 days after its end. The account owner gets an email 14 days and 3 days before, with the date and a link to the plans. Invoices are kept for as long as the law requires.
Until then, Renew plan or Select plan keeps everything. What to download first, and how to delete the account yourself earlier: Delete your Viewnamic account.
Renew your plan or choose another
- Open Subscription & billing – the button in the Workspace’s notice takes you there.
- Under Plans, the plan that ended is marked Your previous plan: click Renew plan – with Yearly or Monthly billing – or Select plan on another plan.
- Pay on the Stripe page.
As soon as Stripe confirms the payment, your account is active again: your publications are back online with the same links and settings, and you can upload and edit – with everything the plan includes. You can renew your plan or choose another already during the read-only period; your publications then stay online without a break. If access was paused after a failed payment and your subscription has not ended, click Update payment method instead: as soon as the open payment goes through, your account is active again.
Only the account owner can choose a plan. An overview of the plans: Plans and limits.
If you pay by bank transfer, Subscription & billing shows how to renew: pay the open invoice listed under Invoices, or contact us if there is none. When we record the payment, your access is extended to the end of the period the invoice covers – also out of the read-only period or a paused account. If Viewnamic manages your plan individually (Managed billing or Tailored Plan), contact us to renew it.
Questions
Is anything deleted when my trial or plan ends?
Not right away. A paused account stays stored for 30 days – after a paid plan, that is 44 days after its end. Then it is deleted completely; the account owner gets an email 14 and 3 days before. Renewing or choosing a plan before then keeps everything.
Can I download my files before the account is deleted?
Yes. Also while the account is read-only or paused, the Workspace has Download PDF in each project's menu, a download button next to every video, audio file, 3D model and slideshow image, and Download screens for click dummies.
Can I still edit my publications during the read-only period?
No. Uploads, edits and settings are paused for every team member, including the account owner. Renew your plan or choose another to continue – your publications stay online without a break.
Can I renew the plan that has ended?
Yes. In Subscription & billing it is marked “Your previous plan”, and “Renew plan” starts a new subscription of it – monthly or yearly. This works during the read-only period and after access has been paused.
Do my links and embed codes work again after I reactivate?
Yes. Publications keep their links, access modes and settings. Embed codes on your website, your public page and personal secure links work again if your new plan includes them.
